“THE WAY YOU BEHAVE WITH YOUR CHILD IS DECIDED BY THE WAY YOUR PARENTS BEHAVED WITH YOU! THERE ARE MANY FACETS HIDDEN IN YOUR CHILDHOOD THAT AFFECT YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR CHILD.”
I am a positive parenting coach and family therapist. I believe no one can teach you how to be a good parent or manage your relationships; it’s just that discussions can open up new perspectives and insights you might have missed! I love to work with parents and couples who are looking forward to fill in the gaps in their life as well as conduct sessions for schools and corporate houses.
Parenthood brings in a 180 degrees change in our lives. The child takes priority over many things that mattered before becoming a parent. Most of the times it is difficult to adjust our lives according to someone else, even when he/she is our kid. Sleep, diet, social life, professional life – everything takes a toll. Mood swings, irritation, frustration result in a faulty parenting style that hampers our relationship with our child and his/her overall development.
It is often seen that children drift away from parents till the time they reach teenage. I have met parents who had the doors slammed at their faces. “My child doesn’t talk to me!” has become the chief complaint. It is therefore important to rectify the faulty patterns in our parenting journey and replace negative thoughts, behaviours and consequences with the positive ones. Let us work together to achieve the goal of becoming the best parents for our children with enough space for ourselves as individuals rather than just becoming great parents.
MY COLLABORATIONS
Collaboration with corporate houses
Corporate sector is one of those most affected by parenthood. When a working couple welcomes a child into their family, some amount of anxiety too creeps in. They need to adjust their personal as well as professional commitments according to the needs of the child. This process is taxing at times, specially for the one who makes compromises. But there are ways to tackle these challenges. I conduct workshops for corporate houses where I help their people deal with issues that parenting brings in. Sometimes one on one sessions are also helpful for clients. Do get in touch with me to book a workshop.
Collaborations with schools
I work with schools looking for one to one counselling sessions for the students and the parents as well as group sessions for them. I can help students discuss and solve problems related to interpersonal and intrapersonal conflicts, parents come up with issues they face and help them form close bonds with their children. Parents are also given an insight about the developmental patterns that they need to know in order to understand their children. The sessions are interactive in nature.
FAQs
How can counselling help with adoption, parenting and marital issues?
Counselling helps with parenting issues by providing a safe space to develop effective communication, manage stress, and learn evidence-based strategies for behavioral challenges. It helps parents improve relationships with their children, resolve co-parenting conflicts, and address personal triggers or past traumas that affect parenting styles. Adoption therapists specialize in understanding the impact of early childhood trauma, neglect, and the complexities of attachment, helping families build trust and security. Counselling can help a couple navigate family dynamics to find out solutions to marital problems.
What should you expect during the sessions?
The sessions, group or one to one, are all interactive where my clients are given time and space to express themselves without any constrains. Empathy and unconditional positive regard are not just terms but the pillars of a successful session. Each client is treated as a unique individual with a unique life style and thought processes. Hence generalization and giving ready solutions are not my ways. I like to discuss issues with my clients till the time they come up with a unique solution that suits them.
How should you know that nothing that you shall share with me, goes out?
Confidentiality is the foremost ethic that is incorporated in the counselling sessions. No worries about that……..

Why does your boy/girl behave so stubborn?
Kids are stubborn as a normal part of development, driven by a desire for independence (autonomy), learning cause-and-effect, testing boundaries, and asserting their own will, but it can also stem from unmet needs (hunger, tiredness), environmental factors (inconsistent parenting, imitation), or underlying issues like ADHD, anxiety, or learning disabilities. It’s their way of exploring control and self-identity as they grow, though persistent defiance might signal a need for deeper evaluation if it affects daily life.
Should you miss all the fun when you become a parent?
Parenting is a blessing God showers upon us. It is fun and a fulfilling experience if you enjoy it. The joy that a child brings in life cannot be compared to anything better. It is a miracle seeing your childhood right in front of your eyes again. You will miss no fun, in fact, re-live anything that you missed back in your days. But if you are not comfortable as a parent, discuss your thoughts with someone you trust, may be a counsellor. Rewinding your thoughts, feelings and experiences will make everything all right.
